Freedom Beyond Trauma, Grief & Anxiety
First Responders & Caregivers – The Toll of Service on the Servant
The Canadian Journal of Psychiatry has reported that first responders have a rate of trauma related mental disorders FOUR TIMES that of the general public. If you are in service to others in any capacity you have an elevated risk of trauma, anxiety and depression, for a variety of reasons.
Beyond first responders and emergency workers, everyday care givers like teachers, supporters of the elderly, children or parents often experience a subtler form of trauma, without realizing the effects on their overall health. Regardless of the degree of trauma, many people unknowingly carry lingering trauma in their body.
Servants often don’t recognize the impact of their service on personal health, wellness and happiness. As a result, life struggles that may be caused by lingering trauma feel ‘normal’ and many resign to live with the cumulative impact. In much the same way that certain lifestyles represent a clock ticking toward calamity, lack of emotional awareness can be a recipe for disaster. Servants need to learn emotional self-care or they risk a heavy price.
Peaceful Warrior Consulting – Helping Others Minimizing the Impact of Trauma
Peaceful Warrior Consulting Group is a personal growth/development/awareness service based in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. We focus on the anxiety, depression and trauma experienced and felt by those in the helping industries. Our clients come from caregivers, health care workers, emergency services and the armed forces.
We all experience the negative effects of life from ‘everyday stuff’ to major events in varying degrees. These traumas accumulate and interfere with healthy, peaceful, and purposeful lives. Peaceful Warrior Consulting offers a mindful and heartfelt approach to healthy living that focuses on freedom and peace beyond anxiety, depression and trauma.
We use experiential, individual counselling sessions to help those struggling with burdens that affect us all. Striving alone is difficult and frustrating and we use personal connection and sameness to help lighten the load. We help First Responders, Emergency Services, Military and Caregivers move beyond the traumas they often experience in their Protector/Helper professions, and look to reveal how trauma plays out in our daily lives. We provide our services online and in person to help you in your search for peace, hope and happiness.
If you don’t think your anxiety, depression, sadness and stress impact your physical health, think again. All of these emotions trigger chemical reactions in your body, which can lead to inflammation and a weakened immune system. Learn how to cope, sweet friend. There will always be dark days.
